The Corpus Christi Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) population 1/ increased from 293,734 in 1970 to 428,183 in 2010. That was an increase of 45.8 percent.
The foreign-born (FB) population increased from 8,910 in 1970 to 29,729 in 2010. That was an increase of 233.7 percent. The foreign-born share changed from 3.0 percent to 6.9 percent.
The share of the overall population that was native-born (NB) increased by 39.9 percent.

The first chart below shows the three population change factors for three periods adjusted for annual average amounts. Natural change (B-D) was the primary factor in population increase in all periods.
The second chart shows the same data but with an adjustment to reflect births to immigrants shifted to NIM. In it, B-D remained the primary factor for increased population in the first two periods, and all three factors were balanced in the latest period.
